Reports To: Lead Teacher / Head of Department / Principal

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in delivering high-quality education and fostering a positive learning environment for students. The Assistant Teacher will help with classroom management, lesson preparation, student supervision, and individualized support to ensure every child thrives academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing lesson plans and instructional materials.
  • Provide support to students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Supervise students during class, lunch, recess, field trips, and other activities.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
  • Support classroom management and behavior guidance techniques.
  • Prepare learning materials, displays, and instructional resources.
  • Assist with grading assignments and recording student progress.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents as required.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
  • Follow school policies and procedures, ensuring a positive and respectful atmosphere.Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (preferred).
    • Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is desirable.
    • Basic knowledge of child development and classroom best practices.
    • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
    • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
    • Work Conditions:
  • Classroom environment; may require physical activity such as bending, lifting, or standing for long periods. Regular working hours, with occasional after-school or weekend events.
